Festival International De Jazz De Montréal Announces Its Jazz All-Year Round Series Lineup

The Festival International de Jazz de Montréal has announced some of the major artists who will be appearing at the 2008-2009 season of its popular Jazz All-Year Round series, among them, Sarah-Jane Morris, Cesaria Evora, Guy Bélanger, David Byrne, Susie Arioli, Peter Hammill, Ron Sexsmith.

To give a brief synopisis of some of the aforementioned talents, England’s Sarah-Jane Morris, blessed with one of Europe’s loveliest voices, is an artist who loves taking risks, moving between soul, jazz, rock and blues, and into pairings with very talented guitarists. At 67, international touring veteran Cesaria Evora brings incredible energy to her music—the moving morna, the national blues music of Cape Verde. An intense and brilliant harmonica player with a 30-year career, Guy Bélanger has starred alongside Bob Walsh, Les Colocs and such legends as Muddy Waters and Koko Taylor.

Tickets for these first concerts will go on sale this Saturday, August 9 at noon.
