2nd Annual Brooklyn New Music Festival

This multi-venue event will feature indoor and outdoor concerts at some of Brooklyn's hippest venues with 21 of NYC's hottest bands.

Celebrate Brooklyn's cutting-edge, multi-ethnic underground music scene at the Second Annual Brooklyn New Music Festival (Wed-Sun, Sept. 14-18, 2005). 


 - A free outdoor afternoon concert (Fulton Street Mall, Saturday, Sept. 17,
1-6pm) w/ live sets by Somi, Pistolera, Suffrajett, Shrine for the Black
Madonna, and festival headliner Burnt Sugar.

- A free panel discussion w/ Brooklyn club owners and booking agents
(Pratt, Thursday, Sept. 15, 6-8pm),offering a rare talk with the folks from
Brooklyn Lyceum, Frank's Lounge, Galapagos, the Hook, Southpaw, Sputnik, and the Trash Bar, about what makes our music scene so unique, and how we can make it even greater.  

- Five nights of $5 concerts (Wednesday-Sunday, Sept 14-18) at clubs throughout the borough w/ live sets by Apollo Heights, Rev. Vince Anderson, the
Citizens, Dragons of Zynth, Faith, Karen Gibson-Roc & Fluid, Jasper James, Jungli,
Kilowatt, Muthawit, Queen Esther, Shaka-Zulu Overdrive, Shankbone Mystic
Project, Tenderhead, Tinsaedu, and the Imani Uzuri Rock Quartet.
