Published September 1, 2005

New installments to the 'Joan Baez Original Masters Series' are set for Sept. 13 release. The folk legend's original albums One Day At A Time and Blessed Are will include bonus tracks.

Vanguard Records has announced the next installments to The Joan Baez Original Master Series with the reissue of One Day At A Time and Blessed Are.  The September 13 release of these titles celebrates the 45th anniversary of Baez's first recordings with the label and are two of the final three albums to be reissued in the series.

One Day At A Time, Baez's twelfth album, includes two bonus tracks - "Sing Me Back Home" and "Mama Tried."  Recorded in Nashville in September 1969, the album features Nashville's famed "A Team" - guitarists Grady Martin, Harold Bradley, Pete Drake, bassist Junior Huskey, pianist Hargus 'Pig' Robbins, and fiddler Tommy Jackson - the same team she worked with in 1968 when recording David's Album.

Blessed Are, a two-CD set and her thirteenth album, features a previously unreleased performance at Woodstock of "Warm And Tender Love."  This album became one of the landmark albums in a career that had already had several breakthroughs.  Featuring 20 songs on a double-LP, including nine originals by Joan and 11 titles by a cross-section of songwriters ranging from Lennon-McCartney, Jagger-Richards, and The Band's Robbie Robertson and his protégé expatriate Jesse Winchester, to Nashville's own Mickey Newbury and Kris Kristofferson.

In 2001, Vanguard Records debuted The Joan Baez Original Master Series, a series that chronologically reissues Baez's celebrated 14-album Vanguard catalog.  Each of the titles in the series features a deluxe slipcase featuring new artwork, in addition to the exact replicas of the original artwork and liner notes.  Featuring 20-bit remastering from the original analog tapes, each release includes previously unreleased material from the original recording sessions and additional liner notes.
