Live At The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival
Shout Factory

Despite being the most popular recurring music festival in the country, few recordings, audio or video, have emerged from the annual New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. A new series from Shout Factory seeks to put an end to that dearth. Sets from the Funky Meters (2000) and Beausoleil (2002) are fitting initial entries. The Beausoleil show, featuring founder and leader Michael Doucet on fiddle, is a corker. Straddling the line between traditional and a more contemporary brand of Cajun music, Doucet and his crew jam with the best of ’em in the Crescent City sun.
