Dub Collossus To Release A Town Called Addis
Published August 19, 2009

Dub Colossus’ latest album, A Town Called Addis reflects his love of Ethiopian singing and musicianship. It is set to be released this October.

Composer, guitarist, bass player and programmer, Dub Collossus is known as Dubulah aka Nick Page. His latest project is the album, A Town Called Addis, which reflects his love of Ethiopian singing and musicianship.

The album was inspired by meeting, writing and working with singers and musicians when Nick was in Addis Ababa in August 2006. The effort is a collaboration between those artists and Dub Colossus. Covering Azmari and traditional styles as well as the popular singing styles of the 60s and 70s, it seeks to combine the golden years of ethiopique beats (thanks to Francis Falceto) and ethiojazz with the dub reggae styles of early 70s groups like the Abyssinians and Mighty Diamonds.

Nick Page started his music career with Michael Riley (Steel Pulse), and went on to form Trans-Global Underground with Tim Whelan and Hamid Man Tu in 1990, producing, writing and playing on their first 6 albums. In 1998 Nick started Temple of Sound with Neil Sparkes.

A Town Called Addis is set for release on October 7.
