Putumayo Presents Euro Groove
Putumayo

It speaks volumes about the vast universe of world music that after 15 years and countless collections, Putumayo continues to find more genres and styles to illuminate. For the 11th installment in the popular Groove series, the expert compilers focus on the dance fusion and electronica of Europe, and while it may not be as exotic or as fresh as the tracks from Arabic Groove, Asia Groove or others in the series, Euro Groove has a coolness factor going for it, pushing the beats near the dancefloor, if not always on it. For many, the biggest name here is Chumbawamba, but their track is stronger than what you remember the band for, if not as catchy. Yet it’s the irresistible ear candy of German pop duo 2raumwohnung, gypsy groovers !DelaDap, Lebanese jazz head Toufic Farroukh and others that will have you digging deeper. Let’s hope Putumayo keeps finding new places to shine its tireless light.
