Published June 6, 2008

Latino culture old and new will bring classic and innovative performances to the Queens Theatre in the Park for the 12th JPMorgan Chase Latino Cultural Festival.

The JP Morgan Chase Latino Cultural Festival, which will take place between July 23 - August 3, will feature the likes of Grupo Afroperuano Caracumbe, The Bachata Roja Legend, Ruben Rada, Jimmy Sabater, Los Gaiteros de San Jacinto, Zemog el Gallo Bueno, Corina Bartra, Aquiles Baez, Inca Rose Duo, Tola y Maruja, Noche Flamenca, and a commissioned dance piece by Magdalena Brezzo and Carmerino 4. Dragones: Destino de Fuego, an animated feature, will be screened as well.

The event will take place at the indoor Queens Theatre in the Park and will showcase the talents of veteran performers who started side by side with artists striking out in new directions. It presents well-loved New York institutions, international icons, and eye-opening newcomers, including contemporary dance companies from abroad, thanks to its annual tradition of a commissioned dance piece. Queens Theatre continues as a beacon of diverse Latino performing arts with this annual festival.
