Celebrate Brooklyn kicks of its 30 season this summer and although the full schedule has yet to come out, the series already promises to be one of the best. Rock-n-Roll Hall of Famer and Classic Soul icon Isaac Hayes is this year’s opening performer and will take the stage at Prospect Park Thursday, June 12th. Other artists confirmed at this time include South African songstress Miriam Makeba (June 14th), British singer Beth Orton (June 19th) and the Brazilian Girls (July 11th).

Celebrate Brooklyn events are all free, but a $3 donation is suggested. The season extends over nine weeks and will conclude August 9th with a multi-artist tribute to American legend Bill Withers. Check out Celebrate Brooklyn’s website, www.briconline.org/celebrate for the updated season schedule.
