Zimbabwean Music Festival

The Zimbabwean Music Festival is an annual celebration of Zimbabwean music and culture. A fun-filled three-day weekend of concerts, workshops, community conversations, a marketplace and more, Zimfest is the largest annual gathering in North America of students, teachers, performers, and fans of Zimbabwean music.

Zimfest 2005 takes place August 12–14 at Western Washington University in Bellingham, with pre-festival activities on August 11. We are happy to have so many talented Zimbabweans coming from Zimbabwe, Europe, Canada and around the U.S. to teach this year: Peta Axelsson, Garadziva Chigamba, Irene Chigamba, Julia Chigamba, Tute Chigamba, Musekiwa Chingodza, Lora Chiorah-Dye, Ronnie Daliyo, Beauler Dyoko, Pasipamire Gunguwo, Tendekai Kuture, Cosmas Magaya, Sydney Maratu, Zivani Masango, Paul Mataruse, Jane Matiure, Sheasby Matiure, Maria Minnaar-Bailey, Lucky Moyo, Kurai Mubaiwa, Fradreck Mujuru, Fungai Mujuru, Kokani Mzite, Michael Sibanda, and Benita Tarupiwa.
