Published February 6, 2008

May and June dates confirmed for performances by Dengue Fever in the United Kingdom and the Netherlands.

Cambodian rock band Dengue Fever announced that they have confirmed their first live shows in the United Kingdom as well as The Netherlands this coming May and June.

Based in Los Angeles, California, Dengue Fever will headline their first club date in London at the Borderline on Tuesday May 27, 2008. The band will then head to The Hague to play their first ever gig in The Netherlands at the Tong Tong Festival on Friday May 30. Dengue Fever will conclude their tour Sunday June 1 with a slot on the Wychwood Festival at the Cheltenham Racecourse in Gloucestershire. Additional dates may be added.

“We are really excited to be promoting Dengue Fever's first ever UK show,” said Mean Fiddler promoter Craig Wylie. “We see a very bright future ahead for the band and following some great reviews for the album, all eyes will be on them to live up to some very high expectations when they perform at the Borderline. We know that with their talent, they will deliver a show that more than justifies the hype.”

“I can’t tell you how excited Dengue Fever is to be playing our first club show at the Borderline in London,” said Bassist Senon Williams. “We’ve performed in Russia, Portugal, Spain and even Cambodia but we can’t wait to play our first U.K. show. It will be off the hook! The thought of playing both the Tong Tong Festival and Wychwood Festival shortly afterwards alongside such great performers is really the icing on the cake.”

Dengue Fever’s third CD, Venus on Earth, was released on January 22, 2008 in North America on M80 Music. Rabid interest from the press and college radio include Los Angeles Times ("Sexy and eclectic, it's world music for the cool kids”), SPIN Magazine (“Venus On Earth feels impulsive and rich, rippling with surf psychedelia and exultant brass swing”), Paste Magazine (“The maturing, polyglot sound of America's urban future. (3 Stars)”, The Times (“If there is any justice in pop music, we’ll all catch Dengue Fever before the year is out”) as well as The New York Times, Global Rhythm and Entertainment Weekly, Songlines, Roots among others. Venus on Earth is currently charting at #14 on the CMJ North American College Charts.
