S.O.B.'s To Hold Its 25th Annual Tribute To Reggae Legend Bob Marley On Bob Marley Day
Published January 15, 2008

Upholding a 25-year old tradition, Bob Marley Day will be celebrated in New York City's S.O.B.'s on Wednesday, February 6th. Among those who will be attending are DJ LionDub and The New Kingston Band.

On Wednesday, February 6-namely, reggae musician Bob Marley's birthday-the likes of The New Kingston Band and DJ LionDub will gather to herald Marley's longstanding foothold in the music industry, as well as the timeless works he has contributed over two decades ago. Marley remains to this day one of the most prolific and inspirational musicians in our culture.

Bob Marley Day will be the only event in NYC that is held on Marley's actual date of birth. While DJ LionDub works the turntables, The New Kingston Band- a talented group of 4 brothers who have toured with famous names including Sean Paul and Sizzla-will entertain the crowd with their own sizzling reggae beats. On top of these musical performances, a screening of Palm Pictures' Africa Unite: A Celebration of Bob Marley's Vision (set to be released on DVD on February 12) will be held. The documentary follows the Marley family as they journey to Ethiopia to celebrate Bob's 60th birthday.

With such remarkable talent and works of art to be on display, Bob Marley Day is sure to be an exceptional event to behold- for both die-hard Marley fans and newbies alike.
