Kaliko Productions will celebrate Haiti’s Bi-Centennial this year on Saturday, January 19 with its Fourth Annual Festival featuring the crème of the crop in the Haitian Music Industry. Artists will perform in Bayfront Park in Downtown Miami and include T-Vice, Nu Look, Hangout, Djakout Mizik, Azor, Jesifra, Gabel, Zin, Krezi Mizik, CaRiMi, Zekle,and Grammy-Award winning and Jamaican born reggae singer Junior Reid. Kaliko Productions hopes this festival will serve as a stepping stone for other cultures to share in Haiti's pride of being the first free black republic, a feat they accomplished in 1804 when they won their independence from France.
A press conference at 6pm on Friday January 18th at Marabou Cafe will begin the event packed weekend, followed by a kick off party. On that Sunday, January 20, Marabou Cafe will also hold a Festival After-Party featuring Djakout and Carimi. Tickets are $30 in advance.
