Eight concerts will serve to promote the talent of young Cuban musicians, fusing the sounds of their roots with other world influences.

After its second New York summer, the traveling Spiegeltent makes its first Miami appearance with the Global Cuba Festival in early 2008. The co-presentation from Miami Light Project and FUNDarte will happen on the shores of Miami Beach. Eight concerts will serve to promote the talent of young Cuban musicians, fusing the sounds of their roots with other world influences.

In addition, acclaimed Cuban group Habana Abierta announced the release of its fourth album. The disc features a newly-defined fusion between popular Cuban music and funk, reggae and hip-hop airs. It is Cuban pop/rock with proud living national roots.

Habana Abierta is part of a creative generation of Havana-based composers, musicians, sculptors, authors and actors that emerged with its own identity in the early 1990s. The band's intention is to reproduce the music of their local club scene for the world.
