JDUB Records Signs Comedian Michael Showalter
Published June 27, 2008

Showalter first came to recognition as a cast member, writer, producer, and director of MTV's The State. JDUB will be recording two intimate shows in Brooklyn, NY for inclusion on his debut album.

JDUB Records is very proud, excited, and even a smidge giggly to announce the signing of their favorite comedian, Michael Showalter.
BR> Showalter first came to recognition as a cast member, writer, producer, and director of MTV's The State (1993-1995). He later went on to co-write and star in the cult classic Wet Hot American Summer (2001), write, direct, and star in The Baxter (2005), and write, produce, and star in Comedy Central's Stella (also 2005). He also co-wrote the funniest and most criminally underappreciated, travel guide of all time, State By State With The State: An Uniformed, Poorly Researched, Guide To The United States (1997).

With all that writing, producing, directing, starring, joking, co-writing, co-producing, co-directing, co-starring, and co-joking under his belt, you would think that Michael Showalter surely has a comedy album, but you would be wrong.

A little known fact is that The State recorded an album in the Bahamas that was supposed to be released on Warner Brothers but never was.

On Thursday, July 26 JDUB will be recording 2 intimate shows back-to-back at Union Hall in Brooklyn, NY for inclusion on Michael Showalter's debut album.
