Gaelic Storm

Bring Yer Wellies
Lost Again

Gaelic Storm has come a long way since its 1997 appearance as the immigrant band down in the third-class decks in the film Titanic. But one thing hasn’t changed with Bring Yer Wellies: this band’s sure to keep your feet moving. While it seems as though every eight or nine tunes out of Ireland yields one or two laments about a lost love or missed horse, Gaelic Storm relentlessly brings to the table some serious, and seriously good, sounds with a pick-me-up spirit that could even prompt a nun to hoist a few. “Hello Monday” even celebrates the energy of everyday life missed by most, and makes the best of any situation: “This ain’t livin,’ this is life!” Surprisingly a predominantly non-Irish band, they’d certainly fool you with the scope of their new album. Catch them on their tour through March 2007; the sextet claims they’ll share a pint whenever and wherever they can.
