Liam Lawton To Perform At Carnegie Hall Tomorrow, March 21st, 2007

Lawton will be accompanied by 14 different church choirs from across the U.S. for a one-time “Celtic Spiritual Evening.”

Multi-platinum singer songwriter Liam Lawton will bring his music for a one-night only concert to Carnegie Hall on March 21st 2007. Joined by church choirs from around the country they will perform at least a dozen Liam Lawton originals. Known for his unique quality, his poetic lyrics are inspired by many sources including the ancient texts of Celtic Ireland, he is also at home writing contemporary music. Much of Liam’s inspiration is drawn from the landscape of Ireland with its own dark and rich history. His melodies are full of pathos and can stir the heart and his music has been used in many an auspicious occasions including memorial services for victims of 9/11 to concerts in such places as the Vatican, New York’s St. Patrick’s Cathedral, The White House and The Chicago Symphony Hall. Liam’s choral music is used by choirs all over the world and has been translated into Spanish, German and Swedish.

The performance will be conducted Stephen Petrunak Director of Music at St. Blase Parish in Sterling Heights, Michigan, where he has been a director for over 20 years. Accompanying Mr. Lawton will be 14 choirs from the states of Michigan, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Alabama and New Jersey.

As a performer Liam Lawton also has attracted sell out crowds in Ireland and now for the third year running has just completed a nationwide tour where he sold out 21 nights in a row. This year’s tour included a performance at the National Concert Hall which he had previously sold out four times. Coming from a life in Ministry Liam has been closely associated with a number of charities and through his live musical performance he continues to raise much needed funds whenever possible.
