What The Shite: Shite ā€™nā€™ Onions Volume 2
Omnium 2041

A first glance at this compilation will have you contemplating the same words as the title. What The Shite is a look at the contemporary state of a movement started by the Dubliners and the Pogues. The amateurish artwork is no reflection on the music within, but is no doubt influenced by the attitudes of these underground bands that combine traditional Irish sounds with punk. From the title on down, this is about good times, fun and attitude. Musically energetic and powerful, one can almost imagine beer bottles being smashed against walls. What else would you expect from bands like Blaggards, Jackdaw, Sharky Doyles, the Kissers, the Peelers, the Gobshites, Icewagon Flu, the Pubcrawlers, the Go Set, Larkin, Jug O Punch, Three Day Threshold, Warblefly and McGillicuddys? Most of these acts are independent, with strong followings in their local areas, and they sound great, with or without a couple of pints!
