New Festival Documentary Rocks Cape Breton, 2007 Lineup Annouced

A new documentary by Darcy Campbell about the Cape Breton Drum Festival recently premiered in Sydney, Cape Breton. The lineup for the 2007 festival was also annouced.

The organizers of the 7th Annual Cape Breton International Drum Festival, Bruce and Gloria Jean Aitken, recently announced the Festival lineup to date at a Gala evening held at the Delta Hotel in Sydney, Cape Breton. The world premiere of the documentary covering the first six years of the Festival, entitled “When Cape Breton Rocks….The World Rocks” also got its first viewing, followed by a drum clinic by the Detroit “Hit Man”, Mr. Uriel Jones of the Funk Brothers, and award-winning drummer/educator Bruce Aitken.

The Festival is being staged at The Savoy Theatre in Glace Bay, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada on Saturday April 28th and Sunday April 29th, 2007.

“We are very proud to announce this amazing lineup of artists,” says Gloria Jean Aitken, “who have performed with everyone from Elton John to Mick Jagger, from Tina Turner to Bonnie Raitt, from Jeff Beck to Sir Paul McCartney and so much more.”

The lineup will include John Favicchia, Derek Roddy, Phil Maturano, Pete Lockett, Ed Mann, Flo Mounier, Asani, Denny Seiwell, Curt Bisquera, Rich Mangicaro, Bill Bruford, and Dom Famularo, at the Savoy Theatre in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, Canada.
