ISC Announces Judges For This Year's Competition

Brian Wilson, Tom Waits, Rosanne Cash, Sean Paul, Jerry Lee Lewis, Robert Smith (The Cure), Cassandra Wilson and others to judge the influential International Songwriting Competion

Throughout the history of the International Songwriting Competition, it has been renowned for its prestigious judging panels which are comprised of high-profile recording artists and music industry professionals.

Continuing in this tradition, ISC is pleased to announce the 2006 judges: Brian Wilson; Tom Waits; Rosanne Cash; Sean Paul; Mark Chesnutt; Jerry Lee Lewis; Frank Black (Pixies); Robert Smith (The Cure); Cassandra Wilson; Isaac Brock (Modest Mouse); Medeski Martin & Wood; Craig Morgan; John Mayall; John Scofield; Amy Ray (Indigo Girls); Darryl McDaniels (Run DMC); MercyMe; Macy Gray; Charlie Musselwhite; Peter Hook (New Order); Blue Man Group; Tisto; and Jeff Stinco (Simple Plan)

The International Songwriting Competition (ISC) is an annual songwriting contest whose mission is to provide the opportunity for both aspiring and established songwriters to have their songs heard in a professional, international arena. ISC is designed to nurture the musical talent of songwriters on all levels, and promote excellence in the art of songwriting. Amateur and professional songwriters and musicians are invited to participate. ISC has the most prestigious panel of judges of all the songwriting contests in the world, offering exposure and the opportunity to have your songs heard by the most influential decision-makers in the music industry.

Winners are chosen in the following categories: Pop/Top 40, Rock,Country,AAA,Blues,Instrumental,Americana,Folk/Singer-Songwriter,Rap/Hip-Hop,Latin, Jazz, World, Gospel/Christian,Dance/Electronica, Children's Music, Lyrics Only,Teen (18 yrs. old or younger),Performance (this category is judged on performance as well as songwriting)

The Prizes are:

Overall Grand Prize Winner - $25,000 cash and $20,000 in prizes

First Place winners in each category - $3,000 in prizes

The First Place winner in the Teen category will also receive a full scholarship to Berklee College of Music's 5-week Summer Performance Program in Boston,MA, USA (tuition, room and board included)

Second Place winners in each category - $2,000 in prizes

Third Place winners in each category– $1,000 in prizes

Peoples' Voice Online Voting - the public will pick its favorite song from all the finalists – $1,500 in prizes
