Viva Pedro! Sony Pictures Classics To Re-release Almodóvar Films
Published August 7, 2006

In a celebration of his greatest hits spanning three decades, Pedro Almodóvar looks forward to the re-release of eight classics leading into his 2006 award-winner Volver.

Surrounding the release of his newest film Volver, Sony Pictures Classics is set to re-release Spanish filmmaker Pedro Almodóvar’s greatest works in its program Viva Pedro, scheduled to open in New York on August 11th.

The films, eight in all, include Women On The Verge Of A Nervous Breakdown, All About My Mother, Talk To Her, The Flower Of My Secret, Law Of Desire, Matador and Bad Education from Sony Pictures Classics, and Live Flesh from MGM/UA.

The program will span over a dozen dates lasting into December, and will show in more than 50 venues across the U.S. Some of the films have not been shown in theaters since their original releases as far back as the 1980s and 90s, and DVD distribution has halted while Viva Pedro tours the country.

Volver, awarded “Best Screenplay” at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, is set to open November 3rd in New York and Los Angeles. For more information, including showtimes and locations, please click here: vivapedro.com
