McDonald’s Presents Artists In Tour For Latin Scholarship
Published August 3, 2006

Beginning August 30, five top Latin artists join McDonald’s in support of Hispanic higher education.

Five of Latin music’s top names will be touring together as part of McDonald’s 12-market Lo McXimo de la Música concert series.

This year’s bill features Frankie J, Luis Fonsi, Nina Sky, Orishas and Jeannie Ortega appearing in each market.

The artists join McDonald’s in support of Hispanic higher education through the Ronald McDonald House Charities/Hispanic American Commitment to Educational Resources (RMHC/HACER) Scholarship Fund.

McDonald’s will contribute $3 from each ticket sale to the RMHC/HACER, the largest high school-to-college Hispanic scholarship program in the nation.

The concert tour begins August 30 in Phoenix, Arizona, and makes its last stop in Washington, D.C., on September 24.

“We are extremely pleased to present these five outstanding acts that join us in supporting the cause of higher education for Hispanic students,” said Rick Marroquin, Director of Marketing, McDonald’s USA.

Since the program began in 1985, more than 12,000 Hispanic students have received nearly $14 million in scholarships to support their education.
