Dengue Fever To Play Festival Shows In Russia And Portugal This Summer

Cambodian pop band, Dengue Fever will be performing at their first International music festivals this summer in Russia and Portugal in just a few weeks.

Los Angeles, California-based Cambodian pop band Dengue Fever is confirmed to play their first festival shows outside the United States this summer.

Dengue Fever will headline the Afisha Weekend in Moscow, Russia on Saturday July 29, 2006 with Canadian hip-hop artist Buck 65, and perform at the Sudoeste Festival in Zambujeria do Mar, Portugal, outside Lisbon on Friday August 4th, 2006. Previously, Dengue Fever’s only non-U.S. dates have been in Cambodia.

The band will be announcing more live dates in North America this summer and fall including a date on the Seattle Music and Art’s Festival Bumbershoot in September, as well as the Chicago World Music Festival. A headlining Midwest and East Coast tour of the United States and Canada will be announced shortly.

This sextet blends rhythms of the ‘60’s Cambodian pop – heavily influenced by American surf, rock and early psychedelic garage bands – with their own eclectic mix of American and International styles.
