Rolling Stones to Play First-Ever Gig in China

The historic event will take place Saturday, April 8th, 2006 in the 8,500 seat Shanghai Grand Stage.

March 13, 2006- Shanghai, China- The Rolling Stones confirmed today that they will visit Shanghai as part of their 'A Bigger Bang' World Tour. Performing for their first time ever in mainland China, this historic event will take place Saturday, April 8th, 2006 in the intimate confines of the 8,500 seat Shanghai Grand Stage.
"We are looking forward to performing in China for the first time," said The Rolling Stones.
'A Bigger Bang' World Tour opened in Boston in August 2005 and ever since critics have been in agreement about their admiration and sheer excitement that continues to characterize the live Rolling Stones experience.  The tour has been attended by more than one and a half million people making 'A Bigger Bang' the most successful U.S. tour of all time.  Two weeks ago, the band performed for 2 million people at their free concert in Rio de Janeiro, which marked the half way point in their world tour.
Anticipation for the show in China is already running at an all-time high following the incredible critical and box-office response to the Stones' North and South American performances.
The Rolling Stones will be bringing a stage specially created for the Chinese performance complete with their state of the art sound, video and lighting systems. Seating at The Shanghai Grand Stage will also provide excellent sight lines for all fans.
Tickets go on sale to the general public on Monday, March 13th.  Ticket prices will range from 300 RMB to 1800 RMB. The Shanghai performance is produced by WPC Piecemeal Inc., Concert Productions International, The Next Adventure and promoted locally by Emma Entertainment. The Grand Stage performance is presented by Deutsche Bank.
