New York City officials are considering renaming part of a Brooklyn street after reggae legend Bob Marley.

The effort to honor Marley with a street name has cleared a community board and must be approved by the City Council.

Part of Church Avenue, which runs through several heavily Caribbean-American neighborhoods, would be named after the Jamaican music great.

Marley died of cancer in 1981.
