A festival of Traditional African Music will be held on Freedom Day (Thursday April 27) at Lookout Hill Tourist Facility in Khayelitsha. The festival is in the form of a competition between 12 different groups in Khayelitsha who have undergone professional training in traditional dance, instrument making and stage performance over a 10-week period. They are playing for big cash prizes, including one for best costumes. Only authentic African food and drinks (homemade) will be on sale, as well as some craftwork. All proceeds will go to promoting traditional music and dance in schools.

Security in this facility is excellent, and a full team of security guards will be on duty, as well as professional paramedics.

Tickets for seats are limited to 200. These cost R150 each, and standing room tickets are R5 each. The venue has a capacity of 800. There is parking for buses (with car guards on duty). For all enquiries contact Di on 0833750988.
