Third Annual GlobalFEST a Huge Success in New York

The third annual GlobalFEST, held at the Public Theater complex in New York, presented 13 different world music artists in three connected venues over a six-hour period on two consecutive nights.

The third annual GlobalFEST, held at the Public Theater complex in New York, presented 13 different world music artists in three connected venues over a six-hour period on two consecutive nights. GlobalFest is held in association with the annual covention of the Association of Performing Arts Presenters (APAP), at which performing arts centers and festivals from across North America seek out new acts and plan future performance seasons.

The artists that performed at GlobalFEST, and their countries of origin, were Auktyon (Russia), Balkan Beatbox (Israel/USA), Daara J (Senegal), Daby Touré (Mauritania), DJ Dolores (Brazil), Frank London’s Klezmer Brass All Stars (USA), Juan Carmona (France), Keren Ann (France/USA), Las Ondas Marteles (France), Lura (Cape Verde/Portugal), Niyaz (Iran/India/USA), Roxane Butterfly’s Worldbeats presents ‘Djellabah Groove’ (France/USA/Morocco), and Steve Riley & the Mamou Playboys (USA/Louisiana).
