These four Young Lions are full of intense lyrics. The newly famous I Wayne contributes three tunes: the apocalyptic “Rome A Crumble,” the equally eerie “Fire Burning Red” and the message-song “Living In Love” (over the rhythm of “Can’t Satisfy Her”). Richie Spice voices his hit “Earth A Run Red” over the Sweet River Rock rhythm (the same track is featured on one of Jah Cure’s four songs), and Chuck Fenda adopts the gorgeous rhythm of Sizzla’s “Just One Of Those Days” for “Haffi Win.” Weed-A-Bun features a far superior lineup. Beenie Man is followed by up-and-comer Vybz Kartel, Michael Rose (over Sound Dimension’s indomitable Real Rock Rhythm) and Richie Spice’s irresistible hit “Marijuana Pon De Corner.” Shabba Ranks blesses a remake of Frankie Paul’s “Kshung Peng” with Mikey Spice (Paul himself appears on the similar “It Ha Fi Bun”). There are hardcore tracks by Capleton and Sizzla, and LMS introduces a touch of hip-hop with “Stogee.” Luciano performs an unremarkable update of Peter Tosh’s immortal “Legalize It” (“it’s good for glaucoma”), and to cover all the bases, Anthony B and Bushman utilize nyabinghi drums.
