PUBLISHER'S STATEMENT

GLOBAL RHYTHM is a new music lifestyle magazine featuring coverage of international music, film, cuisine and travel. Published monthly, GLOBAL RHYTHM aims at the "culturally elite" educated and sophisticated consumer who represents the growing segment of the American population interested in connecting with sounds and ideas of our changing global culture. By design, the magazine captures their attention with a multicultural spin on various international arts.

GLOBAL RHYTHM targets consumers between ages 24 and 50 interested in today's evolving music culture. Our readers receive a FREE Music compilation CD with every issue. Entitled Global Rhythm on Disc, it features 10 diverse tracks, over 60 minutes of music by international artists. Some recent musicians who have appeared on the sampler include Ethiopian Diva Gigi, Senegalese Afro-Pop Star Baaba Maal, the Buena Vista Social Club, Sting with Cheb Mami, Simon Shaheen, Gilberto Gil, Miriam Makeba, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, the Chieftains, Ravi Shankar, Cesaria Evora, Yo-Yo Ma and DJ Cheb I Sebbah.

GLOBAL RHYTHM is always on top of new trends. The magazine maintains an editorial agenda with a lean toward global ideas interfacing with contemporary music culture. Every issue includes international stars in the heat of cross-cultural collaborations. Recent cover stories include Simon Shaheen & Soraya's Latin Arabic Journey, Rock & Rai, Sting and Cheb Mami's duet "Desert Rose," Dancer in the Dark: Scandinavian Director Lars Von Trier's collaboration with pop star Björk, Native American Women Rising featuring female trio Walela, and percussionist Trilok Gurtu's debut with Angelique Kidjo and Oumou Sangare on African Fantasy.

GLOBAL RHYTHM remains ahead with unique festival sponsorships. The magazine has been the premier media sponsor for the AFRICA FÉTE U.S. tour and creator of the African Guide to Music, Food, Clubs and Culture. GLOBAL RHYTHM has been a media sponsor and participant with Peter Gabriel's WOMAD U.S.A., Harbourfront World Music Festival in Toronto, Mardi Gras in New Orleans, Whole Life Expos, the Music Therapy Conference, the Bumbershoot & International Food Festival in Seattle and more.

In the mid 80s, international sounds may have been too far left for the average American. By the 90s it began to claim a prosperous stronghold in the market. But in the new millennium it is necessary to understand global trends, whether in music, food, entertainment, fashion or travel. Americans are more interested in the tastes and traditions of other cultures than ever before. GLOBAL RHYTHM's goal is to awaken the readers' senses and bridge the gap between this new vibrant pluralistic society and the media that serves it. Simply, GLOBAL RHYTHM offers a targeted market of dedicated consumers who are seasoned listeners and avid purchasers of music products with global appeal.
