Visa Issues Force Richie Spice To Cancel JAMROCK Reggae Fest Appearance
Published May 24, 2007

Due to a backlog of visa requests at the Jamaican US Consulate, Richie Spice will not be able to travel to the US to perform at the 10th Annual JAMROCK Reggae Fest on Sunday, June 3rd at the Westchester County Center in New York.

"We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause," Devon Wheatley, CEO of Fifth Element Records stated. "We cannot emphasize just how sorry we are for disappointing not only the faithful promoters, but also the dedicated fans of Richie Spice."

"Unfortunately, Richie Spice is having unforeseen travel issues that will prevent him from performing at the concert," states David ‘Squeeze’ Annakie, President and CEO of LinkUp Media Inc and promoter of the JAMROCK Reggae Fest. "Fortunately, the JAMROCK Reggae Fest has a strong line-up featuring some of the biggest names in Reggae music. Patrons can still look forward to being thoroughly entertained with a stellar show."

The 2007 JAMROCK Reggae Fest features top-ranking Dancehall deejay Buju Banton, Grammy-award winning pop music favorite Shaggy, the 'fire man' Capleton, Lover's Rock crooner Sanchez, 'Jamaica's Stevie Wonder' Frankie Paul and Reggae music icon Marcia Griffiths, alongside Collie Buddz, Tarrus Riley, Etana, Mr. Peppa, Richie Stephens, the Danceheall Gladiators—Brigadier Jerry, Mumma Nancy, Ranking Joe, Mikey Jarrett, and Carlton Livingston—Cutty Ranks, General Degree, Twin of Twins, Khari Kill, Bigga Haitian, and Christopher. The Award-winning show also features a special guest appearance by Dancehall's 'phenomenal one.'

In a public press statement, Wheatley and Fifth Element promise to make-up any missed performances during the three-week delay in Richie Spice's scheduled U.S. appearances.

The JAMROCK Reggae Fest, will be held on Sunday, June 3rd at the Westchester County Center, 198 Central Ave White Plains NY. Tickets are on sale now at the Westchester County Center Box Office, VP Records Retail Stores in Queens and Brooklyn, Super Power Records in Brooklyn, Moodies Records in the Bronx, and all Ticketmaster locations.
