Tony Trischka will take his crack bluegrass band to festivals and theatres this Spring and Summer in support of his critically acclaimed new album Double Banjo Bluegrass Spectacular . For a complete list of dates, please check out the World Music Concerts section of the Global Rhythm website. The upcoming tour follows up a recent performance on The Late Show with David Letterman in which the “modern master of the banjo” (New York Times) was joined by fellow five stringers – actor/comedian Steve Martin and Béla Fleck (link to appearance below). The three players performed the Steve Martin penned instrumental “The Crow,” from Trischka’s album. Released in January, Double Banjo Bluegrass Spectacular marks Trischka’s return to bluegrass, and features a range of originals and covers in a series of surging full-band tracks each highlighted by twin intertwining banjos. Martin and Fleck are on the album, along with Earl Scruggs, Alison Brown, Tony Rice, Jerry Douglas, Chris Thile and many others.
