After two successful Sundays, Miami will once again host the AT and T North Beach Tropical Music Sports Festival April 27. The five-Sunday program combines live performances by Latin musicians with Latin cuisine, dancing, family fun, and competitive beach volleyball tournaments.
The free concert will feature such artists as Cuban ledgend Roberto Torres, Ayme Nuviola, Roberto Poveda, Andres MC, and Los Fugitivo. From 11 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. visitors can enjoy the beach while they listen to Latin music, participate in tapas, dominoes, dance contests and volleyball tournaments.
The AT and T North Beach Tropical Music Sports Festival hopes to contribute to the revival in Miami’s North Beach. The surrounding community is promoting economic and physical revitalization of the area.
"It was amazing to see how much support we received from the community. In support of this landmark event, the city had the beaches cleaned they placed public bathrooms, provided police support and more. The festival series has received a lot of excitement amongst local business owners," said Ralph Paniagua, founder and CEO of R. Paniagua Inc., one of the festivals sponsors. "Our goal is to help position North Beach as new alternative for beach, music and sport enthusiast", added Paniagua.
The AT and T North Beach Tropical Music Sports Festival commenced on April 13th and will continue each Sunday through May 11th, 2008. See below for complete schedule admission is free and is open to all ages.
