Reggae Veteran iNi Kamoze Releases New Double CD
Published March 9, 2006

DEBUT is the highly anticipated collection of twenty-four tracks of iNi Kamoze's early works that have been re-recorded with top musicians as guitarist Earl ‘Chinna’ Smith (The Wailers) and mixed to iNi's full satisfaction.

It was iNi Kamoze who wrote the hugely popular song "World A Reggae" that Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley "borrowed" and recorded with his own lyrics for the two-time Grammy-wining "Welcome To Jamrock."  iNi's sampled vocal anthem "Out in the street, they call it murder..." is the current catch phrase of the day.  Many other artistes have been recording on this riddim using the sample, including Busta Rhymes, Tony Yayo, and a remix with Biggy Smalls.

The new album from Bob Marley and The Wailers entitled Africa Unite: The Singles Collection features a track called "Stand Up Jamrock" which uses iNi Kamoze's famed riddim track from "World A Reggae" with the lyrics from The Wailers' classic "Get Up Stand Up."   Record companies and producers continue capitalizing on this hot iNi Kamoze rhythm track.

iNi Kamoze was featured in VIBE’s January issue with "Boomshots" columnist Rob Kenner.  The Hotstepper was also recently featured in Garagamel and Echoes magazines in Europe!

The cryptic poet is working on a new studio album of all new material entitled 51/50 Rule - with help from various heavyweights... set to drop in later this year as well as a reissue of iNi’s classic Shocking Out album on his 9 Sound Clik Records label.
