LORDI Discusses Theme Restaurant And Newest Album
Published January 16, 2007

Mr. Lordi, frontman for Finnish monster hard rock act LORDI, has been keeping busy in 2007 with both the upcoming North American release of the album "THE AROCKALYPSE" (March 20, 2007, The End Records) and the brand new LORDI-themed restaurant (also known as the 'rocktaurant'), which opened December 15, 2006 in Rovaniemi, Finland.

"Everything on the menu that is related to LORDI is our own ideas. Like everything with this band, we always have our hands on all projects," states Mr. Lordi. "I opened the restaurant with my childhood friend (Arto Koivuharju). My friend used to run a restaurant and he wanted to open another. He asked me for an idea and I suggested the LORDI-themed restaurant. Everything we start working on seems to get bigger and bigger. We wanted to open in restaurant earlier in the summer but the whole concept just grew and we finally opened it last month. It is a unique place, especially from a European point of view." He adds, "I like the Ox item - the rare beef with chocolate chili sauce and sesame seeds over bull steak. People can order it medium, but I like my steaks rare."

With LORDI-themed entrees and memorabilia lining the restaurant's walls, it appears the restaurant is doing good business, having only been open a month.

"Business has been very good I hear. I'm not there much with all the LORDI stuff I am doing, but I'm sure LORDI fans go there to the restaurant. Lots of tourists go there too, as it's in the town square. If this works for a year or two, maybe we can expand it. The new restaurant has lots of LORDI memorabilia - old costumes, etc - so it would be difficult to open a new one with the same concept. It wouldn't be the same experience for fans if they were just replicas of sets or costumes and not the real thing."

”The people at City Hall were excited to have the restaurant open - almost too excited," he laughs. "It's not just a restaurant - it is a sightseeing attraction for people to come out and enjoy the atmosphere and the food. I find it funny that the people in city hall are making a big fuss but I guess it means good business for them. I'm excited to be involved."

The final track listing for "THE AROCKALYPSE (Special Edition)", which features guest appearances from LORDI fans / heavy metal superstars such as Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider (who acts as the party's MC, infiltrating the radio broadcast that opens the album ("SCG3 Special Report"), Twisted Sister guitarist Jay Jay French, former KISS axeman Bruce Kulick and Accept legend Udo Dirkschneider, is as follows:

1. "SCG3 Special Report"
2. "Bringing Back the Balls To Rock"
3. "The Deadite Girls Gone Wild"
4. "The Kids Who Wanna Play With The Dead"
5. "It Snows In Hell"
6. "Who's Your Daddy?"
7. "Hard Rock Hallelujah"
8. "They Only Come Out At Night"
9. "The Chainsaw Buffet"
10. "Good To Be Bad"
11. "The Night Of The Loving Dead"
12. "Supermonstars (The Anthem Of the Phantoms)"
13. "Would You Love A Monsterman? '06" [Bonus track]
14. "Mr. Killjoy" [Bonus track]
15. "EviLove" [Bonus track]
+ Bonus DVD
LORDI will embark on a string of North American tour dates in support of THE AROCKALYPSE this Spring. The Monster rock n' roll outfit has been confirmed to perform at both dates of the 2007 Bamboozle Festival, set to take place May 5 and 6 at the Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford, NJ.

Due to the band's enormous stage set and spectacular pyrotechnics, LORDI will perform on their own custom stage and close both nights of Bamboozle, together with My Chemical Romance and Linkin Park.

LORDI’s anthemic, hard rock songs appeal to both younger audiences and the older rock crowd that enjoys arena-sized acts as KISS, Twister Sister, Accept and Scorpions. With an over-the-top, unstoppable live show that combines the theatrics of horror movies and pyrotechnic-fuelled rock 'n roll, LORDI knows how to bowl over<
