Awards Shows To Be Broadcast Throughout November On MHZ Networks

The Native American Music Awards (N.A.M.A.) will be featured in a series of broadcast programs on the international MHZ Network throughout the month of November.
 
Beginning on Saturday, November 8th, MHZ Networks Worldwide, “a network for globally-minded people,” will begin airing the Eighth Annual Native American Music Awards at 8:00PM EST with a repeat broadcast at 11:00PM EST.

Taped live at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood Florida, the Eighth Annual Native American Music Awards features a host of performances and appearances by Native American and mainstream artists Rita Coolidge (Cherokee), Shalimar's Miki Free (Cherokee), COPS theme song writer Calton Coffei, original Pearl Jam drummer Dave Abbruzzese, Jean Beauvoir and Little Steven along with a special Hall of Fame tribute performance to the late Link Wray (Shawnee).

A two hour edited version of the Ninth Annual Native American Music Awards which was taped live at the Seneca Niagara Hotel & Casino in Niagara Falls, New York will also be broadcast on the MHZ Networks. This Awards program features performances by award-winning artists as Brule’ & AIRO, CornBred, Digging Roots, NightShield, Derek Miller, the Iroquois Dancers, Lifetime Achievement Award recipients Joanne Shenandoah and Bill Miller among others.

The “Simply The Best Of The NAMMYS” is a one-hour program featuring performances from Awards shows held from 1999 to 2003 and will also air in November. “Best Of The Nammys” features over one dozen music performances recorded from the Second to the Fifth Annual Awards shows. Featured performers include Crystal Gayle (Cherokee), Thunderbird Sisters (Shinnecock), Bird Singers (Viejas Band of Kumeyaay), Pamyua (Yup ‘ik), Howard Lyons (Onondaga) Felipe Rose of the Village People (Lakota/Taino) and more.

Eighth Annual Awards Show – 11/8 @ 8 PM EST Repeat at 11 PM EST
Ninth Annual Awards Show – 11/15 @ 8 PM EST Repeat at 11 PM EST
The Best of The Nammys- 11/22 @ 8 PM EST Repeat at 11 PM EST


The airing of all these Awards programs will commemorate the month of November as National Native American Heritage Month.
