LARMER TREE FESTIVAL!
Wednesday 12th – Sunday 16th July 2006
“There is only one Larmer Tree Festival…” MIKE STOWBRIDGE, LEEDS.
Among other things, the Larmer Tree Festival has become renowned for its stunning location, outstanding eclectic line-up and the fact that it sells out every year. Thousands of festival-goers want to re-live the magic of this unique Festival, or indeed experience it for the first time, and because the Festival organisers are keen to retain the intimate charm the Larmer Tree is famed for, tickets are limited and thus highly sought after.
This year, all weekend tickets have sold out. However, for those who want a glimpse of what makes the event so special, the first two nights prior to the Festival itself provide a tantalising taster. The evening’s programme on Wednesday 12th July is headlined by Jools Holland and his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra – guaranteed to have you boogie-woogying among the Nepalese pagodas and peacocks which adorn the site, deep in the heart of the remote and beautiful Cranborne Chase. Thursday 13th July introduces a Festival-style line-up, new to this year, to stir up the Festival spirit even earlier than before. This full evening’s entertainment features the young queen of English folk Kate Rusby, along with global beat pioneers Afro Celt Sound System and intrepid pluckers The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain, all followed by a whole weekend of music, workshops and so much more.
For all the latest Festival developments, including line-up additions, workshops, street theatre and comedy acts, keep an eye on the website.
