¡Globalquerque! - New Mexico's 2nd Annual Celebration of World Music and Culture, expands this year with an ambitious weeklong schedule of events spanning the entire state, culminating in a three-stage, two-day festival on Saturday and Sunday, September 23-34, 2006 at the National Hispanic Cultural Center (NHCC) in Albuquerque.
The weeklong celebration and festival, with educational workshops, community outreach events, foreign films, a global village and the best in world music, is both a destination event for tourists and a major entertainment and community activity for residents of the city, state and region. The Albuquerque Convention and Visitor's Bureau (ACVB) has designated ¡Globalquerque! one of only a handful of 2006 Tier 1 Events, and the festival is also a featured City of Albuquerque Tricentennial event.
