FOLK FEET SHOWCASE in QUEENS
Celebrating Immigrant History Week
The Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs is celebrating Immigrant History Week from April 17-April 23, 2006. Events are being held all over the city to mark the importance of immigrant lives, communities, and histories in New York City. The Brooklyn Arts Council’s Folk Arts Program will bring some of its FOLK FEET dancers to Queens as part of the festivities. Our Folk Feet theme for this year is Immigration and Dance so this is an opportunity to see the meaning of immigration in the many dance forms performed by traditional artists living and working in Brooklyn. Come over the border (the Queens border!!) for this special FREE evening of traditional dance and music!!
