Stephen Marley Announces Mind Control Tour

Stephen Marley hits the road again this spring and summer, kicking off a tour May 4th that will take him across most of the country before he heads to Germany in July. Touring in support of his Grammy-winning album Mind Control, Stephen has spent much of the past year performing solo material after having built his career by producing award-winning albums for his family members and other artists. On the road last year, he was joined onstage by music legends including Stevie Wonder, Paul Simon and Dave Matthews. This time around, Early Vibes by Gully Bank Sound joins him on a number of dates.

The second eldest son of Bob and Rita Marley, Stephen previously performed in Ziggy’s band the Melody Makers, produced separate albums for Damian and Julian, and recorded the platinum-selling, star-studded Bob Marley tribute album Chant Down Babylon, winning more Grammys than any reggae artist in history before even recording his first solo album. Mind Control was released in March 2007 and peaked at #35 on the Billboard charts, thanks in part to the beat-box heavy hit “The Traffic Jam,” which recounts an episode with a police officer in Tallahassee, and a modernized yet faithful take on Ray Charles’ “Lonely Avenue.”
