Machel Montano and Xtatik are the face of modern soca, a high-tech, high-powered, highly animated rhythm machine. Playing at an unspecified venue to a packed house of loyalists some time in 2003, Xtatik (this time supplementing their name with the designation 5.0) never lets up in this breathless concert performance. A parade of guests includes the legendary Mighty Sparrow but the focus is always on charismatic frontman Montano and his precision-timed musicians - you’ll likely be so absorbed in the nonstop Carnival atmosphere it may take you a while to notice the stilt walker and other sideshows.
