This impressive new DVD/CD finally gives a multimedia makeover to Bob Marley’s posthumous classic Legend. Like that album, the DVD collects Marley’s most iconic tracks (“No Woman No Cry,” “I Shot the Sheriff,” “Jamming,” etc.) and adds videos—not an easy feat, considering that Marley was a pre-MTV artist. Most of the videos here are cobbled together from concert footage and random home movies, then padded out with animation and extraneous shots. They’re not spectacular, but they’re better than one could reasonably expect, given the production constraints. Better still is the inclusion of Time Will Tell, a 90-minute documentary on Marley’s life that’s worth the price of this handsome package alone.
